Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus for 5 PCs

Office Professional Plus 2010 is a genuinely old release, and it is bought for genuinely old reasons: a machine that cannot run anything newer, a macro-heavy workbook that misbehaves in later versions, an archive that needs opening in the application that created it. This listing covers five devices from one key.

Why this edition

  • The complete suite — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access and Publisher.
  • One key, five machines, which suits a small set of legacy workstations.
  • Runs comfortably on hardware of its own era, where later Office releases will not install at all.
  • The 2010 ribbon and file behaviour, which some long-standing documents and macros depend on.

Please read before you buy: Microsoft support status

Microsoft ended support for Office 2010 on October 13, 2020. The software still installs, activates and runs exactly as before, and your license does not expire — but Microsoft no longer issues security updates for it. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you find out afterwards.

This is a genuinely old release and we will not pretend otherwise. It is appropriate for a legacy machine, an offline workstation, or a user who specifically wants the 2010 interface and file behaviour. For anything connected to the internet, buy a newer release.

What you get from Vaneyo

Your license key arrives by email within minutes of purchase, with activation instructions. Every order carries our Installation Warranty — we guarantee the installation will work, and our team will stay with it until it does. Vaneyo is an authorized reseller and holds a Microsoft partnership certificate.

This is a retail key valid for five devices — one key, five installations. Each activation is tied to the machine it is used on, so if one of those computers or its hardware changes later, that activation cannot be moved to a replacement.

Specifications, download links, activation steps and a version comparison are in the Details tab, with common questions under FAQs.

System requirements

Microsoft’s published system requirements page for Office 2010 is no longer available, so we are not going to quote figures we cannot source. In practice Office 2010 was built for hardware of its era and installs on almost any machine you are likely to own.

Download instructions

  1. Open the email from Vaneyo containing your license key — it arrives within minutes of purchase. Check your spam folder if it is not in the inbox.
  2. Go to Microsoft’s setup page at office.com/setup and sign in with the Microsoft account the license should belong to. Create one first if you do not have an account.
  3. Enter your 25-character product key. The license is redeemed to your account and the download becomes available.
  4. Choose Install and let the installer download.

If you would rather we walk you through this, that is covered by your Installation Warranty — just reply to your order email.

Installation and activation

  1. Uninstall any existing version first. Running two Office-family releases side by side on one PC causes activation errors and file-association problems.
  2. Run the installer and let it finish.
  3. Open one of the applications from the Start menu.
  4. Accept the Microsoft license terms when they appear.
  5. Activation completes automatically if the key was redeemed to your account. If you are asked to sign in, use that same account.
  6. Confirm it worked: go to File → Account and check that Product Information reports the product as activated.

If anything stalls, contact us — installation support is included with every order.

Compatibility

  • File formats: reads and writes .docx, .xlsx and .pptx and opens the older .doc, .xls and .ppt formats, so files move both ways with other Office releases and with Microsoft 365.
  • Cloud: saves to OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Alongside other Office versions: uninstall any existing Office release first — running two on one PC causes activation and file-association problems.
  • Not compatible with: macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPad and Android. The Mac and mobile versions are separate products.
  • Access and Publisher are Windows-only applications in every release.

How it compares

Office 2010 vs anything newer — there is no contest on features or support; 2010 went out of support in October 2020. Buy it only when something specifically requires it. For ordinary work, Office 2021 or Office 2024.

5 PC licensing — one key activates five machines in turn.

Perpetual Office vs Microsoft 365 — a perpetual license like this one is bought once and never changes. Microsoft 365 is billed monthly or yearly, installs on several devices, includes cloud storage and keeps gaining features. If you want to own it, buy the perpetual license; if you want the extras and the updates, subscribe.

Related products

Is this one key for five computers?

Yes. A single key used to activate five separate PCs.

Will Office 2010 open modern .docx and .xlsx files?

Yes. The 2010 release uses the same Open XML formats, though features added since will not render as intended.

Should I buy this for everyday use?

Honestly, no. Buy it when something specifically needs Office 2010 — a legacy macro, an old machine, an archive. For ordinary work a current release is better in every way.

Is this a subscription or a one-time payment?

A one-time payment. You receive a permanent license key with no recurring charges. It stays valid and Office keeps working for as long as the product is not uninstalled or deactivated.

Is Office 2010 still supported by Microsoft?

No. Microsoft ended support for Office 2010 on October 13, 2020. It still installs, activates and runs, and your license does not expire, but there are no further security updates. If you need software in active support, we will point you at a current release.

Is the license genuine?

Yes. This is a genuine Microsoft license key with full activation support. Vaneyo is an authorized reseller and holds a Microsoft partnership certificate.

When will I receive my key?

Within minutes of purchase, by email. Check your spam or junk folder if it has not arrived, and contact us if you still cannot find it.

How many computers can I use this key on?

Five. It is a single key valid for five devices.

Can I move the license to another computer later?

No. This is a retail key tied to the machine it activates. If the computer or its hardware changes, a new key is required. If you expect to change machines often, ask us about our bind license products instead.

What if the installation does not work?

Contact us. Our Installation Warranty means we guarantee the installation will work correctly, and our team will help until it does.
