Go to Microsoft’s setup page at office.com/setup and sign in with the Microsoft account the license should belong to. Create one first if you do not have an account.
Enter your 25-character product key. The license is redeemed to your account and the download becomes available.
Choose Install and let the installer download.

Installation and activation
Uninstall any existing version first. Running two Office-family releases side by side on one PC causes activation errors and file-association problems.
Run the installer and let it finish.
Open one of the applications from the Start menu.
Accept the Microsoft license terms when they appear.
Activation completes automatically if the key was redeemed to your account. If you are asked to sign in, use that same account.
Confirm it worked: go to File → Account and check that Product Information reports the product as activated.
If anything stalls, contact us — installation support is included with every order.
Compatibility
Alongside Office: installs next to an Office suite, but mixing installation types across Office-family releases on one PC can cause activation errors — tell us what is already installed and we will confirm the right order.
Cloud: saves to OneDrive and SharePoint.
Files: opens and saves the standard formats for its application, so documents move freely to and from other Office releases and Microsoft 365.
Not compatible with: macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPad and Android. Mac and mobile versions are separate products where they exist at all.
Standalone: no Office suite is required — the application installs and runs on its own.

Standalone Access vs Office Professional Plus — if Access is the only application you need, the standalone license is far cheaper. Professional Plus makes sense when you need Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher too.
Access vs SQL Server — Access is a desktop database with a built-in interface designer. SQL Server is a server database engine with no interface at all. A common arrangement is Access front end, SQL Server back end, and we can advise on that if your database has outgrown the desktop.
