Overview
Microsoft Visio Professional 2019 is the perpetual, one-time-purchase release of Visio for Windows. It installs locally, activates against a product key and keeps running without a subscription. This listing is a genuine retail license for a single PC.
Visio 2019 Professional is the full version of Microsoft’s diagramming application, sold as a perpetual license rather than a subscription. It covers the work most people buy Visio for: flowcharts and process maps, organization charts, floor plans, network and rack diagrams, and engineering schematics — plus the Professional-only capabilities that make a diagram more than a picture.
What Professional adds over Standard
According to Microsoft’s own version comparison, the Professional edition adds:
- Data-linked shapes — connect diagram shapes to live data from Excel, SharePoint lists and SQL Server, so the diagram reflects the underlying numbers.
- Database modeling — generate a database model from an existing database.
- Industry standards — UML 2.5 templates and BPMN 2.0 compliant process notation.
- A larger template library, including cross-functional flowcharts and detailed network diagrams.
